FEES

I charge a fee that reflects the time, efffort and cost expended in preparing the talks.

             During 2026 my talk fee is £50 (+ travel cost). From January 2027 the cost will be £55 (+ travel cost).

                                                The fee for my new talk, SHEFFIELD -- AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY -- will be £40 during 2026 and 2027.                                                                            It will then increase to £55.

  My fee for a remote (Zoom) presentation is £40, on the basis that the meeting is hosted by the group, with me as a guest.

Travel Cost

I am based in Worksop, North Nottinghamshire. I don't charge for travel to talk venues in Worksop, but for venues further afield I charge a sum to reflect the cost of travel.

As an example, for venues in Sheffield, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley the travel cost is likely to be £12. For venues closer to Worksop the travel cost will be proportionately less. Travel further afield will obviously cost more, e.g. to Nottingham, £20; to Leicester, £25.

Payment

My fee and travel costs can be paid at the talk venue, by cheque (payable to MJ Ogden) or in cash. Payment by bank transfer is also acceptable.
